Making Progress

We are slowly making progress with the dogs. Yesterday we ran around the yard with all of them. Today we can sit and hang with them and even touch the "small" one occasionally and a BIG step - accepted kisses and a handshake from one of the "big" ones. What a relief I was terrified this was going to be a big problem. Junior remembers Beans from the photo album Sue sent. Amazing what he remembers and says to me.

Val,

No worries - pretty soon they'll be partners in crime and then you'll have stories to tell!

Sharon

Your dogs are really cute - not as cute as Akins, though!

Good for all of you. I'm sure the dogs have calmed considerably since Akins came home with you. They're getting used to having him with all of you so are not so hyper around him. This has to help. They will be friends. Then you will come up here over Labor day and he'll probably be terrified of our dogs, but he will get to see Haley, Rodney and Tyler with the dogs and realize they are not going to hurt him anymore than they will hurt the other kids. I love hearing of the progress being made.
Maybe we had better send Akins some pictures of the puppies. So he will see them before he comes here. Love Tammy

Valerie - Akins' facial expression in the 3rd picture is priceless! Love it! Glad you are safely home! Sally
